Fibromyalgia and CBD updated beakthrough.

Do you have or know anyone with Fibromyalgia? if so, a recent study is just coming to light. The researchers at Tikun Olam(Hebrew for “repair the world”) have just made a breakthrough and the future looks bright. Fibromyalgia and CBD…

Fibromyalgia (FMS) is a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain, its usually accompanied by fatigue, sleep, mood and memory issues. Fibromyalgia can affect people of all ages, including children.

Researchers believe Fibromyalgia amplifies pain sensations affecting the way your brain processes pain.

With more than 3 million cases a year in the U. S it has become very common and the cause is unknown.but it can be effectively treated and managed.

There are no laboratory tests for the condition, and this can lead to a delayed or missed diagnosis.

Symptoms are Pain and tender points, fatigue, sleep problems, concentration and memory problems, known as “fibro fog”, Anxiety or depression, Morning stiffness. Numbness, and tingling in hands, arms, feet, and legs.and headaches.

Groundbreaking Research Study

Confirms Cannabis Effectively Treats Fibromyalgia and Decreases Pharmaceutical & Opioid Use.

Yes, folks, it’s true the researchers at the ISREAL firm Tikun Olam have published a 6-month study comprised 367 fibromyalgia patients, this is the largest of its kind.

The study was conducted at the Tikun Olam cannabis clinic, the patients were treated with Tikun science-backed varietals, including high-CBD brand Avidekel and high-THC Alaska after 6 months of medical cannabis therapy:

81.1% reported overall treatment success;

73.4% reported improved sleep;

80.8% reported improved depression‐related symptoms;

61.9% reported improved “quality of life” components including appetite and sexual activity.

In general, 80% of people suffering from fibromyalgia are women and the testing reflected these numbers.

The most impressive statistics for me was the fact that most patients ceased, reduced or did not change of prescribed drugs while receiving medical cannabis and 22+% stopped or reduced their dosage of opioids which included Morphine, Fentanyl, Oxycodone, and Percocet.

Tikun Olam has developed multiple proprietary strains, including the first-ever, high-CBD, “high-less” strain Avidekel™. Tikun Olam’s U.S. operations, established in 2015 and also operates similar partnerships in Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, and Greece.

As worldwide research is being openly shared and firms like Tikum Olam are developing strains with a purpose, new doors are starting to open with hemp/cannabis.

Hopefully in time the stigma and bad press associated with these ‘gifts from nature’ will surface and our scientists will be given a green light to advance their research and expand the abilities of these wonderful compounds.

If you or someone you know is suffering from Fibromyalgia talk to your doctor and see if CBD could be part of your treatment, the medical world moves at a fast pace keeping up can be a challenge, good luck, and good health.

  1. Fibromyalgia is a terrible thing and so difficult to diagnose. It is also difficult to treat and no two cases can be treated the same. I know about three close friends with this condition and they sometimes feel so frustrated that drugs are not helping them the way that they had hoped.

    I don’t think any of them have gone this route, probably as it is still so new, but I will definitely share this article with them and let them decide for themselves if it is a road they would like to try.

    Thanks for the great advice.

    1. Hi Michel,

      Thanks for the reply I was pleasantly surprised when I received the information from Tikun Olam.
      Fibromyalgia is a tough call for the doctors and patients, the more options the better anything but opioids is a step in the right direction. If high CBD oils, topicals, or vape works as well as the study results. It seems worth a try, I hope your friends give it a try and works for them, all the best T.C
